Eco Wrap Nepal at RU Fest 2025 – Compostable Bags & Green Innovation

Pokhara, August 1–2, 2025 – The vibrant halls of Pokhara Event Centre buzzed with energy, innovation, and green ambition as RU Fest 2025 brought together changemakers from across Nepal. Among the standout contributors was Eco Wrap Nepal, proudly showcasing its eco-friendly solutions at a dedicated stall during the two-day green innovation festival.

Organized in collaboration with Pokhara Metropolitan City, KOICA, and UNDP under the Green Job Creation through Recycling and Upcycling (GCRU) project, RU Fest 2025 marked a turning point in Nepal’s circular economy journey. With nearly 7,000 visitors, the festival offered an exciting platform for local innovators, youth, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to explore sustainable solutions for waste management and job creation.

Eco Wrap Nepal’s Participation

Eco Wrap Nepal’s stall attracted visitors from diverse backgrounds—students, entrepreneurs, media, and government representatives—curious to learn about practical, scalable, and eco-conscious alternatives to single-use plastic.

At our interactive stall, Eco Wrap Nepal showcased a full range of compostable bags — including garbage bin liners, shopping bags, carry bags, and produce bags — all made from plant-based materials like cornstarch. Visitors were fascinated to learn that these bags decompose naturally, without releasing toxins or microplastics into the environment.

💡 Explanation at our booth walked people through the full cycle — from harvest to home, to soil regeneration through composting. Many visitors were surprised to see know worms and natural decomposition turn used bags into nutrient-rich compost. This helped connect the dots between sustainable consumption and regenerative practices.

We were proud to present how Eco Wrap Nepal’s work directly contributes to a cleaner Nepal, promotes behavioral change, and supports marginalized communities through green job creation. The overwhelming interest in our products and mission reaffirmed our commitment to expand our impact across Nepal and beyond.

A Festival Rooted in Purpose

RU Fest 2025 wasn’t just an exhibition—it was a movement. From live tech demos converting plastic waste into road construction material to fashion pieces made from discarded fabric, the event showcased how innovation can reshape our relationship with waste. Discussions focused on:

  • Circular economy models

  • Climate action through waste management

  • Green entrepreneurship and livelihood generation

  • Youth-led innovation and public art

Representatives from UNDP, KOICA, and the Government of Nepal emphasized the importance of scaling such initiatives. Speaking at the event, Mayor Dhanraj Acharya called it “a pivotal moment for Pokhara’s green transformation.” Minister Bhagwati Neupane added that recycling and upcycling “can be a model for cities across Nepal.”

For Eco Wrap Nepal, participation in RU Fest 2025 was more than a milestone—it was motivation. The support and encouragement we received inspires us to double down on our mission: to eliminate plastic pollution, foster a culture of sustainability, and empower communities through green innovation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers, partners, and everyone who visited our stall. Together, we can create a circular, cleaner, and more resilient Nepal.
